The City of Braga in northern Portugal hosted the 2024 annual conference of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. Creative City KC attended along with Councilwoman Melissa Robinson and Mayor Pro Tem Ryana Parks-Shaw. The conference ran from July 1 to July 5, 2024.

The Mayors of the UCCN held a forum on Wednesday July 3rd where they endorsed the Braga Manifesto – which reaffirms the importance of culture as a stand-alone goal for future Sustainable Development efforts and goals.

Other conference activities included workshops, presentations, and reports from the seven Creative Subnetworks. Delegates and citizens had the opportunity to explore a wide variety of projects and creative events in the City of Braga during the gathering.
