The Foresight Film and Music Workshop is an event designed to nurture entertainment creatives. The topics focus on creative industry workforce skills while promoting cultural and heritage sustainability through the arts. The workshop provided participants ages 18 to 25 with hands-on learning experiences led by local and Hollywood industry professionals.
Over the last 50 years access to arts and music education has declined. The loss of access to the arts and music in high schools has resulted in barriers to participation in the creative industries. Creative City KC Inc. wants to remove those barriers and give young people a chance to learn about an industry they are passionate about but lack access to opportunities that lead to sustainable outcomes.
Robinson says about the workshop, “As new technology allows the tools of filmmaking to become
more and more accessible to young filmmakers everywhere, it’s important to have programs that
get outside of Hollywood to encourage and educate these artists. I’m thrilled that Willie Burton
invited me to participate in this workshop, and I’m eagerly looking forward to it.”
